Programme Aims

The aim of WEiH is to women with business advice, support and where possible information on financial assistance available to new and aspiring female entrepreneurs across the Humber region. The programme is designed specifically for women who are:

  • Looking to enter self employment or already in business
  • Finding it difficult to access current mainstream support
  • Returning to work after long periods of absence
  • Juggling family commitments

We will be there every step of the way, helping determined women with feasible business ideas, to put measures in place that will help develop their ideas into fully functioning businesses. Additional aims of this programme are to assist with:
  • The creation and survival of more, and better business start-ups
  • Increasing the business investment and economic growth of the region
  • Ensuring the long term sustainability of businesses assisted as a result of ERDF intervention.

The Women's Enterprise in the Humber programme is delivered to Customer First quality standards and has been awarded the Prowess Flagship award for excellence in women's enterprise.

On the 1st April 2008, we announced plans for Women's Enterprise in the Humber to become part of Yorkshire's Women Entrepreneurs. This will see us link up with other professional recognised providers of business support for Women entrepreneurs in Yorkshire.

As a result we are currently developing our new website and business plan for this new initiative. We will continue to keep you updated with our progress during this change. Updates will be made available online and via emails. In the meantime you can review the presentation outlining our future plans here.
